Become a County Delegate
Your Voice Truly Matters

The most important political decision in Utah doesn’t happen in November. It happens this March.
At your local Republican neighborhood caucus, everyday neighbors choose county delegates. Those delegates decide which candidates make it onto the ballot. In Iron County, that usually decides the election.
You don’t need political experience. You don’t need connections.

What we do need are more reasonable, grounded people who care about this community, respect the rule of law, and believe leadership should look like service, not shouting.
If southern Utah wants thoughtful, hometown leadership, we need thoughtful, hometown people to step up.

That’s you.
If you’ve felt frustrated with the Republican Party, the answer isn’t walking away, it is showing up. Being a delegate is one of the simplest and most powerful, grassroots ways to bring values and civility to local politics.
There’s plenty of room in this party for principled, calm, decent people. And right now, we need them more than ever.
Here's how:
(Simple, Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Be Eligible

You must:

Step 2: Attend Your Neighborhood Caucus (March)

  • Every voting precinct holds a local caucus meeting in March

  • You attend the one where you live

  • Meetings usually last about 60–90 minutes

  • Find your caucus and the date of the caucus here: https://ironcountygop.org/caucus-night/

Step 3: Volunteer or Run to Be a Delegate

At the caucus meeting:

  • People can nominate themselves (or someone else can nominate you)

  • You briefly say why you want to be a delegate

  • Neighbors vote right there

✔️ If you are elected, you are now a county delegate

(No prior experience required.)

Step 4: Attend the County Convention (April)

As a delegate, you will:

  • Attend the Iron County Convention

  • Participate in voting for candidates

  • You will be contacted as a delegate and given the date, time and location of the county convention. It's typically a Saturday afternoon in April.

Step 5: Minimal Time Commitment

  • Virtually all county delegates attend

    • 1 caucus meeting every two years

    • 1 convention every year

    • The term to serve as a delegate is only a two year term
